the vancouver aquarium is now hosting yoga classes in front of their beluga whale exhibit in conjunction with lululemon for the low low price of $31.50 per class!
"come join us for this incredible opportunity to see just how inquisitive and calming belugas are as their prescence supports you into finding your own stillness and calm."
THAT IS NOT OKAY. we should be supporting THEM by cleaning up our beaches, contributing to a wildlife fund or sanctuary.
“Last month they [belugas] were blowing lots of bubble rings and looking at folks,” Jonathan says. “It depends on how they’re feeling, of course, but because you’re in front of them for an hour in a calm, meditative state, you’ll notice things you might not otherwise notice.”
NO. the whole point of your practice is to be on YOUR mat. not the person next to you and certainly not on the whale who is staring at you from it’s fishbowl. and i bet they aren’t saying hello, they are saying help.
i am sorry but this is beyond. i can’t even fathom anyone in their right mind thinking this will benefit anyone but the people who will be taking in the checks. if you really cared you would offer support, not a giant living TV for people to watch while pretending to connect to their breath and their spirit. you want wildlife yoga? go outside. practice in a forest, a field, on the beach. we are all related. connect.
